#6 Lead Sourcing Tactics for Small and Medium Businesses in the UK
Josh Campbell • October 7, 2022
Over 73% of small and medium businesses recognise lead generation and sourcing prospects as one of their top challenges to enabling growth.

While there are a host of sales enablement solutions that exist, new businesses may not be ready to maximise the benefit of these solutions.
A few quick growth hacks to source leads in the UK are from a few sources:
- Companies House Data
This is the official UK Government Companies House website where you can search all registered companies in the UK. In the advanced search function you can also specify searches by address, incorporation date and active or dissolved status.
- Trade Info Data (Importer/Exporter Database)
This is another UK Government database which lists active importers and exporters.
You can search this database by postcode or by Harmonised Industry Code.
- Dun & Bradstreet company profile
Simply type in your prospect company name with dun & bradstreet at the end.
More often than not, a search result will appear from the dun and bradstreet website.
When you view this company’s profile, it will give you information on the company’s profile such as key decision makers, annual revenue, and number of employees.
- LinkedIn company profile search
Linked In is especially useful for sourcing exact company website and contact details, as well as key decision makers. You can also view what their most recent company posts have been – indicating whats important to them at the moment, which helps to add context when cold calling with them.
- Optimised online presence and Google My Business Profile
This is an inbound lead generation tactic. Ensure your business’ online presence is updated, optimised for search engines, and is linked to your business’ Google My Business profile. This will ensure that prospects searching for your services will be able to find you on their search results page.
